Apologies for "tree of knowledge" - I know that doesn't do full justice - but I couldn't find a better way to shorten "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil".
This is a work of love, no doubt, and I look for your tweet each day. When you're finished, I'm thinking it will serve as a great way to find things. This is often a problem for me. :)
I do have a question, though. Why did you choose to use the word "partner"? Most reputable translations use a form of helper or helpmeet. Just curious.
Thanks @akaGaGa - and good question!
I had been reading the NRSV, which has verse 18 as:
"Then the Lord God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.""
But with hindsight I think 'helper' would have been better. As you say, most translations use that word.
There are a few summaries that I'd like to tweak. I may go back and do that at some point...
i really liked your summary and you helped me to understand better tks :)
I agree with the first comment, just saying the tree of knowledge leaves out a most crucial part. Whenever man decides for himself what is good and what is evil it results in death in oh so many ways. Most recently Ossama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Hitler, Stalin, Mao,...
@biblesummary I hope that you make a summary in other stories or movies :)) because it really helps me in my activities!! your really good in making a summary about the bible genesis and i also hope that you make a summary not only in genesis but all of the bible verse :)) thank you so much!!
It relly asome you do this stuff NICE WORK!!!!
Good attitude you've got there. But i just want to ask that have you heard the permission from the LORD?
I love this stuff : D
We blew it, thx Adam and Eve.
Our Creator, God, is an awesome God. He decides to create a man, bless him with land and then make him a female partner. God will make a way out of no way, keeping His promises; amen.
Thanks for the summary - very helpful, also enjoy reading the comments as they bring out things to ponder such as comment #5.
There was more than one Adam created back before Eve. The book of Genesis provides proof of this in chapter 5 verses 1 and 2.
Genesis 5 KJV
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
#13 YEHOSHUA : VERSE 2 is referring to the 1 and only original Adam and Eve. He called both of them Adam just as my wife and I are called by my last name.
Interesting that I just noted that all animals were named prior to Eve being formed from Adam's rib (and the earth!)
this helped me so mush with my religious studies hw, thank you its nice and concise.
It was like totes ok he said and the aliens rose and th en the moon and sun was alivr
it's very concise
also i can't understang how thre no shrubs of the field yet because in the first chapter if I understand the lord GOD had already created vegetation in the third day?

These are the summaries of the book of Genesis.
They are written to help you understand and remember what's going on in the chapter, but they're no substitute for reading the Bible for yourself.
