Bible Tweeter reaches the Gospels

22 February 2013

Church worker Chris Juby is tweeting his way through the Bible. After two-and-a-half years of publishing daily 140-character chapter summaries on Twitter, he has completed the Old Testament and is now getting started on the Gospels.

"This is a really significant moment for the project," said Juby. "The Old Testament is full of famous stories, but the Gospels are where we hear about the life of Jesus."

The project has proved popular. Juby has 27,000 followers on Twitter, and the Bible Summary website gets well over a thousand visitors every day.

"People seem interested in finding out what's really in the Bible regardless of what they believe," said Juby. "Almost everyone has an opinion about it but not many people have actually read the whole thing."

"This is a great moment for people to start following. The New Testament is the heart of the Christian story. It's an interesting journey by itself."

You can check out Juby's summaries for yourself by following @biblesummary on Twitter or at the www.biblesummary.info website.
