The Israelites crossed the Jordan into the Promised land with specific instructions
V 51 ‘Speak to the Israelites and say to them: “When you cross the Jordan into Canaan, 52 drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places.

Re-cap of the Israelite's journey out of Israel, interesting that Moses is credited as being the writer of this chapter ("and Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the Lord". Some pretty shocking passages inciting acts of violence: "ye shall drive out the inhabitants of the land" and "destroy all their pictures".

What do you make of this chapter? What do you think of my summary? How would you summarise it?

I summarised all 1,189 chapters of the Bible on Twitter - one tweet per chapter, one chapter per day for over three years.

These are the summaries of the book of Numbers.

They are written to help you understand and remember what's going on in the chapter, but they're no substitute for reading the Bible for yourself.
