John 18:6 says they fell back, so Judas and the soldiers fell to the ground just by Jesus saying "I am Jesus of Nazareth"?

Carole

When Jesus asked the soldiers who they were looking for He said.... I am He.
When Peter was asked if he was a disciple of Jesus, he answered ....I am not
When we are asked who we are, what is our answer?

Keith

Judas betrayed Him, the soldier arrests Him, Peter cuts off the soldier’s ear and later denies Him, but still Jesus shows compassion on them all just like He shows for each of us.

It’s easy to have compassion when things are going well in our life but it’s a truer measure of your walk with God if you can show compassion when things are going well in our life.

What do you make of this chapter? What do you think of my summary? How would you summarise it?

Chris Juby

I summarised all 1,189 chapters of the Bible on Twitter - one tweet per chapter, one chapter per day for over three years.

These are the summaries of the book of John.

They are written to help you understand and remember what's going on in the chapter, but they're no substitute for reading the Bible for yourself.
