why did god ask Abraham to sacrifice Isaac?
Hi Janine - the chapter says that God was testing Abraham.
Is that the paraphrase for Genesis 22 ?
Hi Tommy - it's just a short summary of the chapter.
So God and the LORD are different
Hi Wonderer, no I use 'God' and 'the LORD' pretty much interchangeably. Most English translations use LORD (all caps) when the text has the tetragrammaton YHWH. There are other names for God as well, but they all refer to the one God.
V:8 ........God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering.
Prophetic? God did provide Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac his son he loved dearly so God said Abraham get Isaac the son you love dearly take him to the mountain of Morah and sacrifice him there Abraham cried as he tied his son Isaac with rope Isaac was afraid that his dad may do something to him Abraham! God said stop don't touch your son I know how much you love me Abraham untied his son Isaac and his son Isaac wasn't scared oh Isaac my son! Abraham said dad! Isaac said they hugged each other and that was the end
I like the details u put in the summary and GOD bless you
It is ok but but not enough.
Thanks dad,,,,, for you loved God more than anything you tied my legs and hands I failed to understand what my dad is doing to me,but suddenly you untied again. But God realized you also love me more than a lamp.
I think this is very easy to understand. What I do is read this and then read this chapter in the Bible.
This is perfect and easy to understand, God bless you
If we 've faith, then we know that everything we 're hoping for 'll eventually come true. If Isaac died, G-d was able to bring him back.
