You may want to change the last line to "Abraham circumcised the men in his household, including servants." Just "The men" is a little vague. Nice work!
When Abram was 99 years old he made a covenant with God provided he will obey God. His name was changed from Abram to Abraham making him the ancestor of many nations. Abraham promised to keep the covenant for future generations. Descendants must all agree to circumcise every male to be God’s people.
Abraham’s wife, Sarai was now called Sarah for which God blessed her and gave her a son named Ismael. God promised that she will be the mother of nations with some kings as descendants.
Abraham 99 and his son, Ismael was 13 when both of them were circumcised together with all Abraham’s slaves.
God visited Abraham and repeated His promise of providing him with a son. At first Sarah did not believe that she could bear a son in her old age, However, GOD challenged her by saying" is any thing too hard for the LORD? Christians should exercise faith in GOD even when circumstances seem to be against us. In a world fraught with tragedy, natural disasters, economic recession, and constant concerns., placing our faith in GOD seems difficult at best and impossible at worst. Yet we must constantly remind ourselves that GOD uses difficult circumstances to prove Himself faithful. Sarah later came to place her faith in GOD's promise of a son: "Through faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised" (Heb.11:11 ). We can take heart that GOD uses people who struggle in their faith. While GOD doesnnot sin or condone unbelief, we can be assured that He loves us no matter what. Our responsibility is not to make ourselves perfect before GOD. Rather, it is to place our faith in GOD and His forgiveness, repent of sin, and seek to obey constantly. Moreover, we must be sensitive to His convicting work as He continues to form us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Abram being renamed Abraham twenty five years after God's original promise was conformation that He did not forget him and we must wait on God.
Circumcision is something we all must go through to shed the old man in preparation to meet our maker.
Just to clarify ... Hagar was the mother of Ismael. Sarah was the mother of Isaac.
Abraham means father of the nation while Sarah means mather of the nation.
God called on Abram to walk with Him v1 ‘I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.........then God kept His covenant with Abram (Abraham).
