I decided to miss the short bit of narrative at the end of the chapter to give full space to Moses' song.

One real downside of summarising like this is that we miss some important minor themes. There has been a theme all the way through Deuteronomy of Moses' consciousness that he is about to die. I haven't been able to capture it in the summaries, so his death might come a bit out of the blue over the next two days, which is very much not the feel of the book itself.

Words of life, sent from God.....V 47 They are not just idle words for you they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
