For a guy with such integrity in other areas, David has a pretty scary record when it comes to his wives!
Abigail's first husband insults David and is struck dead. (1 Sam 25)
He takes Michal from her devastated husband as part of a deal with Abner (2 Sam 3) - although in fairness Michal had been David's wife in the first place (1 Sam 18).
And now he gets Bathsheba pregnant and has her husband killed when he can't cover his tracks.
Not nice!
David knew full well who this woman was V 3 The man said, ‘She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.' and yet he went ahead, resulting in the death of Uriah ..... and God was not pleased.
