I am a dinosaur, age 74. I think that Twitter has some uses, but I also think it can be used for the wrong things.

If this Twitter version of the Bible served any good purpose, so be it.

I find it to be ridiculous and unfulfilling and by no means descriptive or useful for me.

Thanks for commenting Allen. There are plenty of things that the summaries can't help you with, but I think there are also some things that they are really useful for - helping you find where a passage is in the Bible, remembering the main theme from a chapter, etc. For example, I personally find them super helpful when I'm looking for a Psalm on a certain theme.

Arab deserved judgement, but God gave him mercy.
V 13 Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

What do you make of this chapter? What do you think of my summary? How would you summarise it?

Chris Juby

I summarised all 1,189 chapters of the Bible on Twitter - one tweet per chapter, one chapter per day for over three years.

These are the summaries of the book of 1 Kings.

They are written to help you understand and remember what's going on in the chapter, but they're no substitute for reading the Bible for yourself.
